Craig della Penna
Boston, MA
With over fifteen years of experience in both financial services and strategy consulting, Craig brings extensive insight and expertise to the Green Peak team. Craig advises both corporate and Private Equity clients including Berkshire Partners, The Carlyle Group and Sterling Partners across a wide range of topics including executive assessment, organizational and team effectiveness, and leadership development. His unusual blend of empathetic ‘soft skills’ and hard-core analytics has been utilized time and again as his clients worked through their most intense and mission-critical transitions, from CEO turnover and onboarding, to pre- and post-merger integration, to senior team assessment and optimization.
Prior to Green Peak, Craig was a highly ranked Principal with the Boston Consulting Group. As a core member of the Organizational Practice Group, he specialized in advising global clients in both the Financial Services and Healthcare industries, delivering work that led to both significant value creation for his clients as well as new intellectual property for BCG. In addition to his client-facing roles, Craig played a substantial leadership role in BCG’s recruiting efforts. He led BCG’s global recruiting efforts at Tuck as the first “school captain,” and was subsequently chosen to lead all consultant recruiting for the Boston office.
Prior to BCG, Craig spent six years in corporate finance with two commercial banks, first M&T Bank and then People’s United, where as a divisional CFO, he partnered with his division’s GM to deliver the most profitable performance across the firm. Early in his career, Craig also held positions with Guardian Life Insurance and Ameritech (now AT&T).
Craig received his MBA, as an Edward Tuck Scholar with High Distinction, from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He also holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Trinity College. He lives in Concord, Massachusetts with his wife, Caroline, and their daughter.
The Green Peak team is top notch. They understand the private equity world and have assembled their own team of “A” players. They provide candid insight into candidates and have successfully predicted their probability for success in our portfolio companies.
